The very first editor’s job is advertised

On February 17th 1986, 29-year-old former editor of Personal Computer Games and Zzap! 64 Chris Anderson (Wiki)  placed an advert in Guardian Media  to find an editor for Future Publishing’s first magazine: Amstrad Action. Though it initially struggled at launch in October 1985, the addition of a covertape saw sales surge and the title ran until 1995. This advert, given the date, was presumably placed when AA began to succeed after Christmas 1985 and Chris was able to take on more staff.

Through the eighties and nineties, Future Publishing made both its fortune and reputation on covermounted magazines. Amstrad Action is where it started. CF
